Pago Pago, with its soaring green mountains, sparkling water-falls, and superb beaches, is one of the South Pacific´s most spectacular deepwater ports. Relax on a white-sand beach that stretches on for miles, or go shopping in Fagatogo, the colorful downtown area.

• Fagatogo - Pago Pago's downtown is not only the island's business district but also the home of the territorial government.
• Government House - Originally, the headquarters of the U.S. Naval Chief during World War II. Now home of the Territorial Governor of American Samoa.
• Jean P. Haydon Museum - This museum recounts the history of Samoa and exhibits Samoan art and artifacts.

The U.S. dollar (USD) is the official currency. Traveler's checks and credit cards are also widely accepted.
